Los Angeles Auto show 2012: performance Camaros

Chevrolet had a strong showing at the 2012 LA Auto Show with displays of hybrid and all electric vehicles. Of course our interest was the Chevy Camaro. At the complete other end of the scale from the ecco vehicles was the supercharged 580hp SLR Camaro ZL1 convertible with 14mpg average (12mpg city). I have an old Suburban with these same mileage figures but it has a 40 gallon tank. Of course the purpose of these "Halo" cars is to sell more of the Camaro V6 product which has descent mileage and an extraordinary 300hp output.

Saleen was also present representing the auto "tuners". They were showing their S620 Black Label supercharged Camaro (6.2 liter LS3 with 620 HP and 550 ft-lbs torque) with intercooler and available with a 6sp Tremec or 6ps automatic transmission. Other mods include suspension bushings, shocks, tires, wheels, brakes, interior and body kit. And yes, it comes with a warranty!
